We are fortunate that we are regularly invited to our friends home for dinner. One of our favorite dishes that she makes is the beef chili noodles.
She cooks the beef is in a slow cooker overnight. I often think I should try making this dish because i do love it. I guess that’s the fun in not learning how to make this particular dish as it’s something to look forward to.
Loaded with deep rich flavours of beef and chilli this Beef Chilli Noodle dish is so hot it can blow off your head. My friend keeps a bottle of Chinese vinegar nearby and during our dinner you can see me almost consuming half the bottle. I don’t know how the chilli/vinegar combination scientifically works – all I know is it works.
I get to enjoy the noodles without my tongue flaring for relief.
Our friend hand cuts the noodles. There is no formation to how she cuts the noodles, they are roughly chopped up. I like when she cuts them thickish. They tend to hold better.
This is a carb loaded dish. I personally could not eat this dish once a month. I found that if I have this type of dish during lunchtime it allows my body to digest it without feeling heavy. The combination of beef and noodles at night puts me to sleep not long after consuming this dish.
Can you pair it with wine or beer? I would say beer is a better choice. And you want to have very cold beer to help ease that chilli hit.
Let me ask you, have you ever made Beef Chilli Noodles?
