If there is one person who is impatient when it comes to eating food, it’s Mr A (aka my husband) – he was waiting and waiting for the cake to bake.
Then he had to wait for it to cool down and then I had to decorate it. Finally the cake cooled, I put on it’s coconut dress and viola ready for tasting with a nice creamy glass of milk.
I called this cake “source code coconut cake”. Why? I was reading source code whilst baking and toasting the coconut.
I think it suits the setting:)
This cake too over an hour to bake and the great thing was… It baked evenly and didn’t create bubbles etc – so really happy with the baking.
This was probably the easiest cake I’ve made. Ingredients:)
For the Body:
Egg
Water
Flour
Vanilla essence
Vanilla sugar
Icing sugar
Baking powder
For the first layer:
Icing sugar
Vanilla
Water
For the dress:
Toasted coconut
Mix wet ingredients first, the add dry ingredients mix on high speed for 3 min. Have baking dish lined and greased. Best baking dish 6cmx20cm
Bake for 50-60 min on 160 degrees
Let it sit in baking dish for 8 min then let it cool in wire rack.
One cooled – start decorating with icing and coconut.
Serve with glass of milk – happy midnight snacking.
